Lazio are flying high at the moment and President Claudio Lotito believes it's not out of the question they could challenge for the Scudetto.
“I didn't expect such a strong start, but only because I don't like making predictions,” said the patron in the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I knew that had a squad capable of battling it out with anyone and the facts are proving me right. It was a great performance against Fiorentina, the best since I have been President.”
That 3-0 victory put them in second place, just one point adrift of leaders Inter, and some have even suggested a Scudetto bid.
“It is best not to make proclamations, but nor should we set ourselves limits. We will live every day with the awareness that, if we remain united, we can achieve a great deal.
“Besides, our Scudetto has already been won simply by getting the club out of debt, even if there are still a few payments to be made. From next year we will only have the 6m Euros per season in taxes.”
Lotito has been very unpopular with the fans ever since taking over from Sergio Cragnotti, as his parsimonious approach has slashed the transfer and salary budget.
“This is the right way to work in football and I absolutely do not believe if you spend more that you will win. What counts is planning, such as the contract renewal that Goran Pandev will sign soon.”
Переведите, как мне показалось, вроде Лотито думает, что мы сможем побороться за чемпионство!
