Bianchi To Join Milan In June?
There are rumours emanating from Italy that AC Milan are behind Rolando Bianchi’s loan-move to Lazio, and that the striker will join the Rossoneri in the summer.
Bianchi completed his transfer to Lazio from Manchester City on Wednesday in a deal that will originally see him join on loan until the end of the season. The 24-year-old will then join permanently on a five-year contract, with Lazio paying ?12.5m.
However it has been reported that Milan actually engineered the whole move, allowing Bianchi to spend the rest of the season on-loan at Lazio, before paying Manchester City ?12.5m in order for the player to join them in time for the 2008/09 campaign.
Milan have a number of problems in attack that will certainly need addressing in the summer.
With Ronaldo’s contract renewal still up in the air, Filippo Inzaghi set to turn 35, and Alberto Gilardino likely to be sold following his continued poor performances, Milan will surely have to make one or two forward purchases.
If Bianchi were to be signed, it would leave the door open for another Ka-Pa-Ro trident of Kaka, Pato And Rolando.
The Italian press has been suspicious in the last few days over how Lazio have been able to afford Bianchi’s wages, as his salary supposedly breaks the cap Lotito has enforced at the club.
However the businessman rejected these claims.
"We have not changed the salary cap,” said Lotito. “Bianchi is a boy who has serious values, he was happy to come here and he is motivated.”
